"It is only through meaningful involvement and active partnership, inclusive policies and decisionmaking processes, that solutions to some of the key problems experienced by young people can be developed.” (World Youth Report, UN) Across Europe, many young people feel disillusioned with mainstream politics. The failure of Governments to effectively address many of the challenges facing young people has led to widespread discontent among youth. As a group, young people are not adequately represented within formal political structures and policy-making processes as evidenced by the low rates of parliamentary involvement, political party participation and electoral activity among them. Youth doesn’t believe their opinions can have a significant impact on the political decision. By means of this project, we attempt to enhance youth civic engagement and raise awareness about the importance of participation in civil society among young adults from 7 European countries, develop their sense of initiative, and contribute to combat Youth apathy towards politics, present in our communities. The importance of encouraging young people to participate in the democratic life of Europe, the development of young people ability to participate actively in society is emphasized by Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, is directly expressed in the main objectives of the EU’s Youth Strategy and part of Priorities and Objectives of Erasmus+ program that recommends to target this issue though non-fomal learning activities. The project has also other dimensions important for the programme, notably: developing young people's soft skills and competences, promoting active citizenship and cultural integration.
