Objectives

With this project we aimed to continue and expand student and staff mobility and the opportunity to develop intercultural competencies among students and staff at the Teacher Education Departments of UEW and UCN. We wished to strengthen our focus on creating a space where a higher number of students and staff can benefit from the collaboration and build intercultural competencies by working with a three-fold focus on continued student and staff mobility (physical mobility), virtual mobility/collaboration for students at UCN/UEW (Via e.g. COIL), and develop research collaboration. With the three-fold focus, we hoped to address some of the power asymmetries of North-South collaboration by supporting the (few) physical mobilities with developing online courses or exercises for students, where collaboration and communication is needed to solve the assignments. The aim was to strengthen Danish-Ghanaian understanding and sharing of culture and core values by involving a higher number of students and staff. In addition, pursuing research opportunities related to North-South collaboration and issues of inclusion in educational contexts was intended to fill a under researched gap related to North-South collaboration.
