Objectives

The project aimed to strengthen and expand cooperation between VIA and RUB (Bhutan) and MUCE (Tanzania), focusing on ECCD (Early Childhood Care and Development), global citizenship, and the Futures of Education agenda (FECUN). In Bhutan, the goal was to build a long-term educational and research ecosystem through staff exchange, joint research, and curriculum development. Activities included establishing a journal, hosting a hybrid conference, and integrating Bhutan’s Gross National Happiness (GNH)-based education with global perspectives. The project involved students and stakeholders in dialogue on wellbeing, happiness, and holistic education. In Tanzania, the aim was to continue and deepen the exchange on ECCD approaches, promote collaboration in teacher education and pedagogy, and explore cross-cultural research on children’s participation and play. The project paves the way for future research collaboration and increased student mobility between MUCE and VIA.
