Our goal with our project is to show the students that many things can be seen from different perspectives and, depending on your background, the knowledge you have at the certain time will influence on your view and opinion. We want our students to be critical thinkers. Openminded and aware about that a situation must always be seen and heard from more perspectives. Through our collaboration we wanted our students to grow more tolerance and acceptance by experiencing similarities and differences. Furhter more it is our experience that the students get more awareness about their own situation and the life they live. We wanted to motivate the students to take more active part in their daily life. Not to take everything for granted, but to appreciate all the good possibilities they have.
We applied for this project because it is our experience that our two cultures can benefit a lot from collaboration and exchanging views. We have had a former successful project. We knew that we can rely on each other, that agreements will be kept and that we are good at collaborating. Our cultures are very different, but it makes it easier to compare, discuss and form a personal opinion. Our idea for the project: “Watch Out World”, grew when the war in Ukraine started. We saw the relevance of being aware that the news we get are not always the same. And we started to discuss: Who is telling the truth? We find it interesting to show our students that a truth can be different, depending on who you are and where you are.
