Objectives

The concrete, specific objectives were: - Develop a comprehensive French language and culture curriculum for online adaptation, consisting of 25 lessons. This curriculum will provide learners with structured and engaging content to acquire language skills and cultural knowledge. - Design and develop 5 immersive 3D environments where players can actively engage and interact. These environments will serve as interactive settings for learners to practice their linguistic and cultural competencies in a realistic virtual context. In essence, a "flight simulator" for practicing French language and culture." Implement a machine learning algorithm and multiplayer capability. The machine learning algorithm will guide learners towards suitable learning materials, ensuring personalized and adaptive learning experiences. The multiplayer functionality will enable learners, whether from the same or different countries, to play the games together and depend on each other's progress. On a grander scale, we wanted to make the learning of French language and culture, along with the other partner languages, more readily available.

Background

LudusXR, fomerly an integral part of the Resource Center for Integration (VIFIN), had already executed 2 previous projects, EUROSIM 1 + 2, developing a learning platform for English, German, Italian, Spanish, Greek and Danish, the used the newest available technology, then expanded on it by integrating Artificial Intelligence and multiplayer functionalities. The learning platform has become quite popular, but, French, one of the largest European languages with France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxemburg and with a dominant cultural hertage, was not part of the initial 2 projects. Considering the size, popularity and European importante of the French Language, we wanted to remedy this and therefore designed a project around the particular language.
