Objectives

- With the current project we wished to raise the emotional and mental well-being of our teachers. The goal of the project directly goes along with the needs and challanges of our organization. - By participating in the program we wished to broaden the attending teacher`s mind and perspective. The program offers the teacher the possibility to experience a new culture and support her personal growth. Also the program is a phenomenal platform for learning new skills and obtaining knowledge, developing english language skills (both in oral and writing). - We hoped to find collaboration partners for future projects.

Background

Leiutajate Külakool is a general education school that provides primary education. The school is 10 years old. Leiutajate Külakool is based on democratical educational approach. Currently there are 40 students studying in school, of which 25 are studying stationary and 15 of them are homeschooled. Currently the priority of the school is to maintain the mental health of students and teachers. It is due to the current development of the society. The number of classes and students has increased. It is very important for us that the teachers and new students are supported in adapting. The new students are currently the main challenge, who really need psychological support (depression that is caused by current development of society, adapting to a new school system, stress that is caused by switching from homeschool study to stationary study etc). During the project the main focus was maintaining mental health, preventing problems and supporting teachers and students. Mainly through raising the teachers awareness of mental health. The project started with a learning mobility to Croatia, where one teacher attended a course. After which the teacher did a workshop for her colleagues where she shared the knowledge and practical skills.
