The aim of the project was to change the way of thinking of mathematics teachers, to let them gain new experience and thereby change teaching. Through the changed way of thinking of teachers, we also want to change the attitude of students towards mathematics. And as a result of all this, the exam results of Keila Kool students improve and they are more successful in applying to higher education institutions.
Keila School is a full cycle school. In addition to regular education, the pro-gymnasium-gymnasium section also includes non-stationary education, and each grade has different SEN classes, including classes with enhanced and special support. The main target group of this project is 5th-12th graders. grade students and their learning/teaching of mathematics. Students are not interested in learning mathematics, there is no motivation, materials and teaching methods are outdated. The teachers themselves have grown up with old methods, they themselves have not experienced a different way of learning. By broadening the horizons of teachers, gaining new learning experiences, experiencing and learning new teaching methods, teaching can be improved, teachers can be motivated to change their teaching methods. The pandemic has made many students completely indifferent to learning. There is a particularly big problem with those students whose homes do not support learning. School is more of a place to spend time, a place to communicate with friends. They can no longer be taught with the old methods.
