During the project, we wanted to increase interest in music education and give musical students the opportunity for international cooperation, by preparing for concerts together, making music together, introducing traditions, preparing study tours, introducing musicians, organizing quizzes and joint activities. We wanted to give students the opportunity for active and need-based language learning and the development of social skills. The main goal was to organize a joint Christmas concert in Spain and a spring concert in Estonia.
Türi Primary School is a state educational institution providing basic education. The school was founded in 2011. The school has 500 students and 48 teachers. The school's values are caring, cooperation, interest in learning, creativity and originality. Since 2014, we have actively participated in international projects. With this project, we focused on musical cooperation. Four choirs are active in our school. In addition, music teachers work effectively with ensembles and soloists. All school choirs have participated in singing parties and qualified as high-level choirs. The partner school from Spain was very interested in the effective learning and traditions of polyphonic choral singing. Our school was interested in introducing choral singing and developing students' cooperation with peers from different cultural backgrounds. While Türi Primary School contributed to the concerts held within the project primarily with multi-part choir singing, the strength of the project partners was the youth orchestra and high-quality instrument playing. The study of music and introduction of national traditions are honored in our school. With this project, we got an opportunity for international cooperation that supports the school's values.
