Objectives

To define the difference/similarity of the content, organisation and outputs of apprenticeships in Portugal compared to the Nordic environment. Use the resulting comparison in the development of the curriculum. Analyzing the content and results of the practice makes it possible to draw conclusions about the content and form of one and the same specialty (designer) taught in different cultural spaces. Get confirmation of how much different or similar the practice is from our practice. To come to conclusions about how much it is possible to bring the content closer together, in what volume and form. Gain confidence in your own strengths and recognize the need to improve the curriculum and practical learning when it becomes necessary. The goal is for the student to receive an education after graduation, on the basis of which it would be possible to work in a wider geography and cooperation. Learning (practice) in a significantly different cultural space taught the trainee to perceive cultural differences. However, these differences have influences in the artistic process to a greater or lesser extent in the disciplines that develop creativity (the designer). The result of students ishowed that the desired process worked.

Background

Pärnu German School of Technology (www.saksatk.ee) as a private vocational educational institution is a subsidiary organisation of the Stiftung Bildung und Handwerk (https://www.stiftung-bildung-handwerk.de/) educational foundation in Germany since 2001. The curricula are related to technology (electricity, automation, security systems engineering and audiovisual media). . The curricula of formal education are 1-2.5 years, continuing education 8-80 hours. Recently, the school opened an e-learning platform - the German Digital School, which offers various e-modules and courses in both formal education and training. The peculiarity of the school is that it is the only one in Estonia to offer fully on-the-job training, which is state-funded. In work-based learning (apprenticeships), 1/3 of the curriculum consists of theory studies at school and 2/3 of the internship in a company. This whole method is a very common and effective form of study in Europe. The school is valued by the EST Quality Agency for Vocational Education and has the right to teach in its fields.
