The main goal of EMTK is to maintain and support human health by focusing on the body. As building a house starts with the foundation, a healthy mind in a healthy body! With this finished project, we wanted to offer our students plenty of professional and life experiences, which Erasmus+ mobilities to a foreign-speaking country involve. Thus supporting development of participants, including students with fewer opportunities (elderly, with insufficient foreign language skills). Practicing what have previously learned at school in a different cultural space and environment, is indeed a very effective way of learning. Especially for a massage apprentice; giving the confirmation of suitability (or not) to the acquiring profession. Also introducing ideas about various possibilities to work with people. A masseur benefits from great empathy, which manifests itself well in a foreign atmosphere. Within this project participated 7 different companies (5 in Spain and 2 in Portugal) and 1 school ( in Latvia). All involved in massage, physiotherapy and rehabilitation sphere. Since among the participants were also graduated from EMTK who are already working masseurs, the skills acquired there are currently integrated into Estonian labor.
The Estonian School of Massage and Therapy (EMTK) trains various massage specialists and is a leading massage educational institution throughout Europe, having full accreditation of Estonian Ministry of Education and Research for the masseur curriculum. On 26.01.2022, by the decision of The Estonian Quality Agency for Education (HAKA) commission, the next deadline for the evaluation of the quality of vocational education at the EMTK was estimated to be 6 years. EMTK alumni are highly valued specialists in sports, children's and animal massage. The specialty of EMTK is the great experience and high qualification of the Teachers, the wide range of taught massage types and top-level equipment. Erasmus+ mobilites have proven to be an excellent tool and, in a sense, even a milestone for trainees who have participated in masseur education programs, to consolidate what they have acquired so far and to give a clear overview of the profession. International cooperation supports the principles of lifelong learning and the development of professional skills of EMTK students.
