Objectives

Because of digitalisation & COVID-19 youngsters had spent most of the time in digital game rooms, having a real connection with peers was difficult and hard. Because of that youngsters had lost some important values and meaning of games which used to be part of cultural and everyday life. Also in COVID-19 times a lot of youngsters have capsulated in their own groups, in which they have not grown in social skills and have been less active. Our objective was create an environment for and with youngsters, where they can re-discover and grow in their social skills. Having a real conversation, connection and spending time together. Not only was our objective to grow in social skills, but also grow in leadership, self-expression, in taking courage and also have space to practice english language and to have an intercultural dialogue. To fulfill our objective the youngsters did express that they want to be part of something that is active, like sports or games. We used traditional old-games as a method. Games, which are specific to each country and that youngsters know and can teach to other youngsters from partner countries. Games like mädamuna, ukakas, rahvastepall etc.
