We aimed to give the ever-developing identities of people based on gender, sexuality, and ethnicity the space to be recognized. More specifically, we wanted to create a space for European Deaf young people to understand that there are various identities, which may or may not overlap with each other, resulting in identities that are not always understandable or relatable to others. This project aimed to transfer knowledge and create an understanding of intersectionality within themselves and the Deaf youth community. The aims of this project were: To reduce the marginalization of minority groups in the Deaf community by raising awareness, recognizing intersectional discrimination, and developing tools to strengthen the Deaf community as a whole. To explore the different situations and definitions of minorities in the Deaf community in Europe. To identify intersectional discrimination. To allow participants to self-reflect about their position regarding minorities. To raise awareness among participants about their commitment towards an inclusive environment.
