Objectives

The main goal of the project was to provide an opportunity for young people to visit European countries by train for 10 days. In this project, the opportunity to participate was provided to young people who are exactly 18 years old, who do not have experience of independent travel, as well as financial opportunity. Project participants gained an unforgettable experience through an non-formal method - like a journey that allowed them to get out of their comfort zone. Young people independently selected housing for themselves in each city, drew up a route and action plan for each day while in a particular country. Participants learned to work in a team, be flexible, be more stress-resistant and think critically in the event of an incident or any difficulties; young people could gain extremely valuable experience in solving various unforeseen situations. This project developed flexible skills in the participants, taught them to make decisions and not be afraid to leave their comfort zone. In addition to the experience of independent travel, the participants got acquainted with the cultures of different countries and people of different nationalities, formed their own impression of the countries and destroyed existing stereotypes. Participants were also able to develop their communication skills and multilingual competence, overcome the language barrier through language practice - speaking in English, as well as using applications and writing letters in English. In addition to English, participants also learned new words and phrases in different languages. Each project participant got acquainted with the culture, sights and history of each country through walks around the main attractions and museums. This project has made a great contribution to the development, experience and broadening of the general horizons of young people. Moreover, thanks to the analysis of the experience gained, the guys created media products that they shared with other young people in order to motivate them to take part in this program, as well as to introduce them to other international opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programs.
