The main objective of the project was to implement and put into service for the international educational community an efficient smart library (SL) for the optimal selection of open and multilingual educational resources (OER) in the field of mathematics teaching in the context of engineering. The scope of the content includes open resources from a theoretical point of view, practical, applied, and assessment, covering the contents of Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, Statistics and Probability.
The project application stemmed from the imperative to enhance Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education. The globalization of the workforce necessitates comprehensive educational requirements, aligning with international engineering accreditation standards. STEM students must develop technical thinking, professional skills, and the ability to solve interdisciplinary problems. Mathematics plays a central role in STEM education. A smart library was proposed to address the lack of quality control in existing resources, providing sustainable access to high-quality materials for teachers, and fostering collaboration in the post-COVID educational landscape.
