The aim of this mobility activity was to strengthen the organizational and educational functions of the organization's Houses of Supported Living. In particular, the Hand-in-Hand program gave to the staff members of ALMA the opportunity through job-shadowing in a corresponding organization in France, to gain knowledge and experience and share good practices, in order to further favor the development of the organization's Supported Living Houses network. Our goal is, through the various programs implemented and depending on each person's personal support plan, to enable adults with disabilities to develop the skills that will lead them to an independent, healthy and balanced life.
At ALMA, starting from early intervention, we follow each person's path in all aspects of their life as a parallel family, encouraging both the person with dissability and their family to discover the power of diversity and the opportunities that it creates. Although we have made important steps, we still face challenges, mainly organizational, in our effort to identify the ideal operating model. Supported Living Houses in our country are still new and our experience is still small, for this reason we decided that it would be appropriate to draw knowledge from our French partners who have been operating Supported Living Houses for many decades. In particular, we face challenges in the management of the human resources employed in the Supported Living Houses, while the exchange of ideas and good practices with our French partners will also help us in the organization of the educational and recreational activities.
