Objectives

The main objective of the project was the cooperation of students and teachers of European schools, study of good educational practices and educational systems, connection with the labor market, study of culture and lifestyle. The implementation of this project gave them the opportunity experientially: 1. To attend/participate in courses common to the Greek school, to study the level, the means of teaching and to establish differences and similarities, positive and negative. 2. To come into contact with different educational systems and practices and to record how they can be adopted by our school. 3. To study the ways of integrating multicultural students in a common school context 4. To investigate if there are any Counseling-Career orientation courses/activities and whether they can join our school's activities. 5. To develop social skills and the ability to communicate in a foreign country But, perhaps most importantly, for our students to come into contact with Europe, to see the common European culture but also its diversity, to realize the great potential of the European Union, seeking in the future their active participation in the great European family .

Background

The context of the project concerns the cooperation of our school with European schools with the aim, students and teachers, to observe the way in which specific learning subjects are taught in another European country and to study different educational systems. Having noticed in recent years that most students consider school knowledge to be outdated and behind their real needs and the demands of modern society, the school environment is rather restrictive than liberating for their needs, while senior High School is simply the level that leads to Tertiary education, we decided, through this project, to face the problem: how to make the school attractive to students. To define the framework of the project we took into account the diversity of our student community, as our school has students from different social, economic, cultural and religious backgrounds. In addition, the senior High School is the last school level where students must be properly prepared for adult life and the challenges of academic studies, the labor market and European citizenship.
