Our main objective was to expand and further develop the international project management skills of our teachers so as to get our school internationalised. That is, to learn new things from colleagues from other countries regarding intercultural exchanges, share experiences and implementing them into our own school community. We needed further guidance on how to start, organising and fulfilling a European project and using the relevant platforms. Our main interest was to open our school community to the further European community and establish the implementation of Erasmus projects among our staff and students.
We are a primary school in the city of Komotini, Greece with students aged from 6-12 years old. Most of our approx 200 students come from different cultural and ethnological backgrounds and various origins, such as Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, Armenia. Our school is characterised by good social and cultural togetherness, as this is a major concern of our student body. We need therefore to expand our knowledge on managing intercultural differences and broaden our students horizons. As a school we have already participated in an Erasmus plus programme called "Let's STEM together" and we collaborated with colleagues from Italy and Hungary.
