The first goal of our project is the professional development, the upgrading of the skills and the acquisition of skills of our school staff in order to integrate the climate education in the curriculum.In addition, the undertaking of specific actions and the coordination of teachers of different specialties to raise the awareness of our students. Our next goal is to open the school to the local community for cooperation on actions to reverse climate change. Coordination between different teachers in schools of all levels and cooperation with local authorities to change mentalities and attitudes regarding our ecological footprint. Taking common initiatives and adopting good practices on environmental issues.
In our country, unfortunately, there is indifference to environmental issues. We believe that education on climate change is important in making people sensitive to the global catastrophe that is currently evolving. The educational community must mobilize because it is in direct contact with future generations, it can inspire them, influence them by creating new attitudes and behaviors regarding the environment. Our students have not developed an environmental awareness and are unaware of the dangers of climate change. In addition, climate education is absent from the curriculum and for this reason the teachers must take immediate action. The problem, however, is that we do not have the necessary knowledge and we need coordination between the different specialties of teachers in schools in order to transmit them and to make our students aware of the current state of the world.
