Objectives

The implementation of the project aims to develop the digital skills of our school's teachers in order to utilize ICT in a creative way. The ultimate goal is the integration of digital tools into the teachers’, administration’s and students’ daily lives .More specifically, the proper use of social media networks, sharing and editing documents in the cloud, understanding the concept of cloud computing and online collaboration, creating and implementing educational games in the classroom, designing, implementing and evaluating of digital practices in the school's youth groups and their communication with other youth groups in Greece and abroad. Another goal is to strengthen the European identity of the participating teachers. This will be achieved by encouraging transnational collaborations with corresponding bodies for the exchange of good practices, by developing a network of cooperating bodies for multi-level cooperation and participation in other European mobility programs in the future. Finally, we wanted to ensure the participation of school teachers with fewer opportunities, thus pursuing equal social, language and cognitive skills.

Background

We have decided to apply for the ERASMUS+ KA122-SCH project representing the 2nd Technical Vocational School in Drama, which has an educational tradition in the sectors of Economy and Administration, ICT, Agriculture, Health and Welfare. More specifically, innovative practices like cinematherapy, environmental awareness and New Technologies (ICT) were integrated into the curricula. However, since the outbreak of COVID- 19 pandemic, the confrontation with a new technological reality , has urged mostly young people to use digital technologies ,extending the information limits available to individuals and improving human communication and productivity .Thus, with the participation in the program "Development of Innovative Skills in the use of digital tools in school education", we hopefully needed to be trained on working with young people in collaborative teamwork tools, in the implementation and evaluation of digital innovations. Therefore, it was necessary for the participants to build skills in the digital tools, in the utilization of the information and communication technologies at school and the improvement of their overall team work, managing collaborative tools applied in school education.
