Background

The context of our project is about history, but also about acceptance of diversity, multiculturalism and respect for the Other and the concept of democracy. As our school teaches history, literature, political and social sciences, the subject of the application covers these fields, but also the general aim of a modern school to develop critical thinking and cultivate empathy and tolerance. Students are taught mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, but also Greek language and literature, history, Latin, foreign languages, philosophy and sociology. Of course, sport runs through all grades of high school. At the same time, in the school there are activities for our students to choose from, such as theatre, newspaper publishing, photography group. Our students participate in sports competitions, science competitions, literary competitions. Our students are aged 15 to 18 years old. Our students come from different social and cultural backgrounds. Their families are often immigrants from neighbouring Albania and therefore belong to weaker economic classes. The school's staff consists of 35 teachers and about 350 pupils, one headmaster and two deputy headmasters.
