The project has been organized in such a way as to be an advantage for those who participate in it, either directly or indirectly. We want it to be an engine of change and development, with a unique direction towards quality education, which in turn aims at active citizenship, in order to find solutions to key problems of our social life, with climate change being the most basic. This future vision involves many individual goals for the fulfillment of which we will fight from the beginning: development of digital skills, new innovative practices in the classroom and their connection with society, new perspectives of cooperation with schools abroad through common targeting and action, awareness in environmental / social issues, taking initiative, finding solutions, participating in democratic life, improving English through communication with school students from abroad, cultivating soft skills. An additional key element is that our students will be hosted by families in Portugal and will return the hospitality by hosting their Portuguese friends in May 2024 in Rhodes. This practice contributes to the development of soft skills, a very essential element of the 21st century. century.
The project "My school, my land. Active citizens in the digital age" was created after a thorough exploration needs of the school community and its potential. Pedagogical training was therefore given priority of teachers and improving their digital skills to enrich teaching practices them, mobilizing the students' interest. On the other hand, the school must be an integral part of it society and to contribute to its improvement. It is therefore useful to bring students into contact with social issues or different cultures and through the fermentation of knowledge, to learn to participate in democratic life and to seek solutions for serious problems such as climate change change. It is our belief that, both through the training of teachers and through the mobility of students, supported by this application, it will become the beginning of a meaningful interaction with positive consequences for the school and society at the same time. The specific plan contains a thorough selection of agencies, which meet our needs both theoretically and practically, and was implemented in the best possible way.
