The objectives of the project are: - Raising students’ environmental awareness with emphasis on issues of sustainability and management of natural ecosystems, especially after natural disasters, such as forest fires and floods. - Enriching teaching methodology with innovative, experiential actions that will enhance intrinsic motivation as well as integrating creative modern digital tools. - Forming active and responsible European citizens, capable of taking initiatives and proposing solutions to address critical environmental issues. - Developing 21st-century skills emphasizing on critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, digital literacy, flexibility, initiative, productivity, social and emotional skills.
The students of our school demonstrate high learning abilities and a strong desire and flair for learning through creative, experiential teaching techniques which boost intrinsic motivation and active learning. The critical environmental issues that our students will be called upon to manage as future active European citizens create the urgent need to raise their environmental awareness through innovative teaching practices related to sustainable development and natural disaster management. With a view to confronting these crucial issues effectively, students need to develop their communicative and cooperative skills as well as respect for human dignity and diversity nurturing the common values and rights of European citizens in a spirit of equality and democracy. It is, therefore, our strong belief that collaboration amongst countries and nations ensures pluralism and a holistic approach to these common challenges.
