The most important needs and goals of Nea Peramos Senior High School, which were defined after extensive consultation between students, teachers and parents, are extroversion, internationalization, modernization and the improvement of digital skills, multilingualism, strengthening of the European identity of students and teachers. The school, in its effort to improve and respond to the above needs, has tried and successfully participated in European programs over the last ten years. All these programs were designed by other schools. The school's goal now is to design its own European Erasmus program by making use of its previous experience as a participating organization. He wants to "build" a project closer to his own needs. The specific program was chosen because it would offer the participating teachers familiarity with the funding possibilities and the success criteria of a European program as well as practical advice for the design and implementation of a successful program with a high evaluation.
Nea Peramos Senior High School is a public school of general secondary education. The school provides general education courses in all three grades and orientation courses in all directions (Humanities Studies, Science and Health Studies, Economic and Computer Studies) in the 2nd and 3rd grade to students from six neighboring villages of the Municipal unit of Nea Peramos. The students of the General Lyceum of Nea Peramos are 15 to 18 years old. The students of the school (Greek children but also immigrants and refugees) come from families that are mainly engaged professionally with agriculture and in recent years with tourism in an area that is transforming very quickly from rural to semi-urban. In this rapidly changing environment, the educational community of Nea Peramos Senior High School seeks extroversion, internationalization, modernization and the improvement of digital skills, multilingualism, strengthening of the European identity mainly of the students but also of the school's teachers.
