The seminars were chosen to acquire skills and knowledge with the final recipients being the students. In particular, we wanted to acquire modern, applied and effective tools and practices to effectively support inclusive education and respond to the needs of children, where traditional teaching methodology falls short. In addition to be able to apply the teaching subjects in new more fun and enjoyable ways in order to make them more attractive to our students. To find ways to approach parents and convince them of the importance of their role and to establish a strong and functional partnership between them and the school. To achieve the updating and enrichment of environmental education programs.
160 students attend our school. Their ages are from 12 to 16 years old, due to incomplete schooling in earlier years. It can be described as multicultural, as 1/3 of the students are foreigners (Albania, Poland, Turkey, Finland, Romania, Bulgaria, Australia, Canada, Vietnam, Spain). In addition, 21 Roma students attend, as well as students with special learning difficulties. A large percentage of children come from lower social classes. Our children live in socially and economically disadvantaged areas. Some of them find it difficult to adapt and assimilate from the social web. It is obvious that our school is called upon to face multiple challenges, such as cultural conflicts due to diversity, to which we must respond with specialized knowledge and skills.
