Objectives

The primary goals and objectives we aimed to achieve by implementing the "PASSPORT to knowledge" project were as follows: 1. Professional Development: We aimed to enrich the professional development of our participating teachers by exposing them to new teaching methods, innovative approaches, and best practices from the Finnish education system. The goal was to enhance their skills, teaching strategies, and pedagogical techniques. 2. International Collaboration: The project aimed to foster international collaboration and strengthen educational ties with European partners. 3. Observation of Finnish Teaching Methods: The Finnish education system is renowned for its student-centric, non-competitive, and collaborative approach. We aimed to gain insights into these methods and explore how they could be adapted to our own classrooms. 4. Learning Outside the Classroom: By observing Finnish daily routines and outdoor activities, we aimed to explore how such experiences could enhance student engagement and academic achievement in our own context. 5. Dissemination of Good Practices: This involved disseminating good practices, findings, and innovative teaching techniques to benefit students, teachers, and schools in our region.

Background

Our school is located in a mountainous area away from city centers and access to universities. Nevertheless, it has participated in 3 KA229 ERASMUS+ projects (ARS LONGA , RAINBOW and TALES). Over the years, it was observed that there was a need for development and improvement of the school's teaching methods. Socializing with foreign countries has indicated that we need to work more convincingly in creative environments and to incorporate good practices into our school. The Greek educational System is based on indoor activities while the Finnish on outdoor. Acquiring knowledge through on-site monitoring is a primary need for our organization that’s why we craated this project called: “PASSPORT to knowledge”.
