Objectives

The aim is to train school teachers in alternative teaching approaches and methods, which can be used to adapt their teaching to the needs of students from vulnerable backgrounds. Their familiarity with various methods of active learning and their practical application in the classroom, as well as their ability to design activities that can support the growing diversity in today's society, will enable them to promote integration, tolerance, diversity and social inclusion of marginalized students, ensuring equal learning opportunities

Background

The most important challenge a school faces, especially when it is located in an underprivileged area, is to create a school community that offers equal learning opportunities, inspires security, ensures acceptance and promotes collaboration, with the goal of all students ‘prosperity, regardless of their social or learning background. In recent years, our school teachers have found out that the needs of many students, who are vulnerable to social exclusion, are not served by the existing curricula and teaching methods. The aim, then, is to train teachers, to renew their teaching methods, so that they can contribute to the creation of a truly democratic inclusive school, on the grounds that the school is the one that cannot meet the needs of the student and not the student himself who fails to meet the school requirements.
