Background

Our school, 2nd High School of Efkarpia, is considered one of the best public schools in the area of Thessaloniki. The teachers show excellent collaboration, through formal and non-formal ways of learning and approach a common vision: high quality education, providing equal opportunities for all students, tolerance towards the different, awareness of environmental issues, development of digital skills, strengthening our European identity. Our school had no previous participation in European programs. The teachers that have had an Erasmus experience are familiar with the benefits for the entire school community. Due to the pandemic, we have adapted quickly to new ways of teaching. The need for our further training became imperative. The content of the course we selected ensured this. 5 teachers of our school were trained by the organization English Matters, in innovative teaching methodologies and learning of the 21st century (Universal Design for Learning, Game-based Learning and Gamification, Digital Competence Framework, Critical Thinking,Creativity, Project-based Learning, Visible learning, CLIL, etc). With the actions of spreading their knowledge and experience the benefits multiplied.
