Objectives

Our main goals were and are: a) The training of teachers in matters of political environmental education. It is noted that Urban environmental education is directly intertwined with Sustainable Development Education and the Sustainable School (https://www.ecoschools.global/). b) The development of students' environmental sensitivity and the cultivation of the characteristics of the active European citizen. Through our own training, we seek to achieve the above goal and, in addition, the more direct involvement of parents. c) The strengthening of the existing and development of the potential language, digital, organizational and intercultural skills and perceptions of teachers. Individual goals are to strengthen and cultivate the new 21st century skills of the students, to strengthen their democratic values, to accept others (co-education) and to create new links with teachers from other countries for the implementation of the next Erasmus project. The last goal arose during the implementation of the project as we met, during the movement of teachers who share the same goals as us and we have the same perceptions and searches (https://www.przedszkole32konin.pl/)

Background

We are an urban kindergarten that, following the official preschool education program, annually implements activities and actions related to urban E.E. However, we found that we need to strengthen our environmental identity and further theoretical and practical training in order to integrate and organize our work in a unitied and more targeted framework, with parents's direct involvement. This was achieved through the training of teachers in Spain and their contact with teachers from other countries who share the same goals. It is noted that we maintain our contact with the teachers of Poland, and we cooperated in the dissemination of our program through Erasmus days and plan further cooperations. Returning to school, in the first phase, the rest of the school's teachers, parents and teachers from the prefecture were trained, in collaboration with the Education Consultant. In the second phase we organized ourselves better as a school unit by implementing 1 single action plan, a skills workshop and starting the application procedures to claim our certification as a sustainable school. The dissemination of the project is done through the school's official blog, our participation in Erasmus days 2023, social media and the local press
