By participating in the mobility activities we aimed to upgrade the training and education of teachers on issues of democratic management of multicultural/diverse student identities with differentiated learning needs and habits in the context of teaching in the classroom and to use corresponding methods and techniques in teaching. More specifically : -to develop teachers' intercultural competence and sensitivity to diversity issues, as well as their ability to manage and resolve issues related to communication between different cultural groups and identities -to strengthen the multicultural identity of our school through the interaction of ethnic identities in order to broaden and extend teaching beyond the boundaries of mono-cultural and monolingual cultures and thus encourage and prepare students' participation in future international cooperation projects -to achieve familiarisation with digital tools and teaching methods that promote diversity and foster empathy among themselves and, by extension, their pupils -to strengthen cross-border cooperation
The 4th Gymnasium of Sikeon aims both the extroversion of the school and the adoption of a climate of empathy and inclusion in issues of diversity, an objective that we wanted to expand through participation in this Erasmus+ programme. Our school is attended by pupils who are differentiated from each other in terms of their learning profiles, their learning readiness, their interests and the type of learning resources and strategies that motivate them. Our students are: a) of refugee origin b) repatriated bilingual immigrants of Greek origin c) children of economic migrants of Greek origin who sought a way out in other European countries (Italy, Germany) and returned to our country, d) with learning problems: dyslexia, dyslexia, dyslexia, dysorthography, pervasive developmental disorders, e) students growing up in a difficult family environment. There are therefore needs which can be summarised as follows: - democratic and equitable management of students' identities through inclusive teaching methods - the development of teachers' capacities - through training and interactive activities - to manage the cultural and learning heterogeneity of the classroom.
