The key aims of the project are: - Identification and respect of Diversity and Difference. It is a need of this school because of its particularities and because of its role in a contemporary constantly changing society. Teachers will be personally strengthened to manage diversity and grow the same ability to the student community, through especially designed interventions. -Use of Art in Education in the concept of Diversity and Difference. - Learning to be an active citizen, be aware of the Environment, and achieve digital literacy. - Gain of experience in designing and employing European programs and in being part of European teachers’ networks.
Ours is an Art School, with a student population who comes from various areas of Athens and has chosen a particular Art Field – Art, Drama/Cinema or Dance. In addition to the school curriculum classes, the students also take extra courses according to their chosen field. Parallel to diverse needs of the student population, the teachers population presents equal diversity. As teachers we are challenged to use and work with this particular diversity. The suggested project aims to strengthen teachers in order to discern, identify, use and respect diversity and difference among all members of the school community, thus creating a school ambience of inclusion and tolerance.
