The most essential thing we seek to achieve through our work is: To improve the skills of our school's teachers, so that all students can be integrated into school life and engaged in school activities, in order to alleviate tensions and delinquent behaviours. Besides, we seek – through innovative methods and tools – to equip our students with skills that will strengthen them in their future socialisation (at the next levels of education, as well as in their professional and social life)
In the 11th General School of Larissa, more than 50% of the student population consists of Roma students. However, a large percentage of the rest of the students come from vulnerable social groups (families with economic, family and social problems). In general, our school has a heterogeneous student potential. The class often lacks the average student, resulting in excellent students coexisting with students who have difficulty reading and writing. In the social field, delinquent behaviours are observed (among students, as well as from students to teachers) both during lessons, during break time, but also in various extracurricular activities. For all the above reasons we chose a project entitled Inclusive Education: Improving educational and pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning for the integration of students belonging to vulnerable social groups.
