We wish to achieve the induction into conversational practices and the democratic resolution of conflicts, the reinforcement of the role of the students' institutional body, the equal acceptance of all the students including the refugee children who will be hosted in our school next year, students from different socio-economical status and different cultural background. To trigger the students' interest as regards the climatic change, to raise environmental awareness and form environmental attitudes through their participation in designing and implementing educational projects of ecological content. We want our students to realise the value of free and equal access to digital tools, to become more sensitive towards issues concerning users' protection in digital environments, to get informed about proper digital attitudes, to protect themselves against threats and risks on the internet and to recognise thoroughly the impact of misusing the internet on their physical and mental health.
We are applying for this project because we are facing three major problems which exacerbate the school's operation and which have deteriorated in the times of COVID-19. They constitute an obstacle to the vision of a school which is to meet the modern demands for a European school, based on the values and needs of the European as well as the local communities. Our three objectives are the democratic deficit, ecological awareness and digital citizenship. We consiider that there is democratic deficit in both students and teachers in that they have difficulty in communicating and solving their problems through conversation and interaction. The use of technology and devices has increased for the worse after two years of online education and kids are uncontrollable as they are unaware of using the Internet safely. Our school is located in an urban area, though, we consider that our students haven't developed ecological awareness as they don't really show their interest to ecological issues.
