Background

The Evening EPAL of Evosmος is a vocational school in the Western districts of Thessaloniki, which are characterized as working class neighborhoods, inhabited mainly by low-income people, affected by high rates of unemployment and besides the local population, many first-, second- and third-time genetation immigrants live by them. Our school provides education to more than 700 students and has at least 50 permanent teaching staff. Our students are adults, they have deficiencies in skills related to their profession but also in soft theyskills that are of great importance for their professional inclusion, they have limited access to training structures and in performances related to the operation of the labor market and have limitations in terms of opportunities for their personal and professional development. Our school, recognizing the needs of its students on the one hand, but also listening to the shortcomings of the labor market in the wider region, decided to submit a professional training plan in industrial networking and PLCs for the students in the fields of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, aiming on the one hand to expertise the group and on the other hand its function as a multiplier to their collegues .
