Objectives

The aim of the project was: • to broaden the professional and social horizons of students, with an emphasis on vulnerable social groups, in order to create new perspectives for their professional development, • to give them the opportunity to come into contact with innovative approaches and methodologies, • to improve the knowledge and skills they acquire during their schooling, • understand the context of their work, • to be able to take advantage of opportunities, when they arise, in terms of both entrepreneurship and employment, in order to improve their standard of living. • to cultivate personal, professional and social skills, such as critical thinking, risk-taking, problem-solving, teamwork, self-confidence, satisfaction, social relationships, • to develop the spirit of cooperation and communication in the school, since the management and especially the dissemination of the European programs is done by a team and the whole school is involved. • Students and teachers to develop foreign language skills and strengthen their sense of European citizenship, improving tolerance for diversity and boosting their self-esteem.

Background

The students of the school live in a relatively isolated geographically rural and border area, with a high unemployment rate. They come from disadvantaged population groups, are mainly unemployed or have a low level of qualification. Also, the school has a significant number of foreign students with insufficient language skills and low school performance. The school is asked to develop actions to deal with problems, (such as lack of opportunities in the province, absence of training programs, etc.), to modernize and internationalize by strengthening its extroversion and to become more attractive to students, who are invited to enter the European labour market. It is called upon to strengthen the bridges both with the local business world and with European networks of schools and businesses, related to the sectors and specializations that exist in the school, for cooperation and implementation of mobility programs and recognition of the qualifications obtained through them. So the students participated in the Erasmus+ program, in order to secure new knowledge and skills required by a constantly changing labor market, in multicultural societies.
