The objectives of the Departments of International Relations of the two University Campuses with regard to this Project were: the maximum absorption of the funds, the increase of the number of mobilities, in combination with the provision of high quality studies, the credit recognition of courses, the assurance of necessary services provided, the implementation of new types of mobility in relation to the classic and international dimension, (i.e. short-term mobility and Blended Intensive Programs). The optimum communication with students and staff of the Institute and other Higher Education Institutions/receiving organisations, at home and abroad, was of main concern. Since the abovementioned Project was implemented during the pandemic, our Institution took all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of incoming and outgoing staff and students and made provisions of the dissemination of the information on new types of mobility and the promotion of the Erasmus+ Programme. Additional objectives were the implementation of information programmes (in-person or remotely) to enhance student and staff (academic or administrative) mobilities with an emphasis on internationalization, the conducting or conclusion of inter-institutional agreements, including, among others, the blended or short-term mobility (e.g. BIPs). There was frequent communication with the National Agency, embassies and consulates for the effective completion of mobilities and the smooth adaptation to the new possibilities of the Programme. With a view to strengthen the mobility of outgoing students for internships, the International Departments of the University of Crete cooperated effectively with the Technical University of Crete Mobility Consortium. In the framework of Erasmus without paper (EWP) /Dashboard, the increasingly systematic registration of inter-institutional agreements was planned despite the technical issues (mediation of third-party providers) regarding the interoperability of European University systems. In accordance with the safety/protection rules for mobilities set by the relevant services, the Institution implemented the instructions of the National Agency, while continued the good cooperation with the relevant Ministries and services within and outside our Institution, where necessary (e.g. online fraud incident management).
