Objectives

The purpose of the project was to strengthen collaboration with foreign institutions from technologically advanced countries such as the USA and Japan, to attract foreign researchers and students to the University of Crete, and to provide learning opportunities to its academic community. At the same time, however, the transfer of know-how and information to institutions from less technologically advanced countries, such as Benin and Algeria, constituted a first priority. Nevertheless, the project was affected by the war between Russia and Ukraine, which resulted in the exclusion of Russian institutions, and consequently, the non-implementation of mobilities with St. Petersburg University. The promotion of intercultural learning and exchange – offering participants the opportunity to become acquainted with different educational systems, cultures, and working environments, the enhancement of academic and professional skills so that both students and academic/administrative staff could acquire new knowledge, competencies, and practices to be applied at the TUC during their academic trajectory, as well as the strengthening of institutional collaborations – creating sustainable cooperation networks with universities and organisations.
