The participation of the University of Macedonia in the Erasmus+/International Credit Mobility programme was directly linked to the Institution’s objective of strengthening its international orientation and expanding its network of collaborations with Higher Education Institutions outside the European Union. Through the implementation of the project, the University aimed: - to establish itself as a driver of regional development, - to enhance mobility opportunities for both students and staff, - to broaden the internationalisation and outward-looking profile of the Institution, - to provide students with experiences in diverse educational and cultural environments, fostering intercultural understanding and contributing to the strengthening of their personal and professional profiles, - to promote the professional and personal development of staff members through the exchange of teaching practices, research methods, and work-related experiences in their fields of study. In this way, the University of Macedonia sought, through Erasmus+/KA171, to consolidate its position within the international academic community and to create substantial added value for all members of its academic community.
