The Project, the result of intensive work by academic and administrative staff from the two Depart. of International Relations of the University of Crete (UoC), as well as from partner institutions abroad, was highly promising given the extensive geographical scope of networking. The goal was to establish collaborations with recognized institutions outside the EU. Prestigious universities in South Africa, Palestine, Israel, and Russia contributed to drafting the joint proposal across various scientific fields, which was submitted by the UoC and approved for funding. The approved mobilities were the outcome of the quality and adaptability of UoC services to its internationalization strategy, achieved through online and/or direct interpersonal communication, despite the existing experience from ongoing international mobility projects. 11 proposals for collaborations related to this Project were not funded. Within the framework of these collaborations, the IRO Depts established Inter-institutional Agreements, ensuring a fair distribution of approved positions per country, maintaining regular contact with the Erasmus Coordinators of the Acad. Depart. etc. A major setback in the implementation of the Project was the political tension.
