Objectives

The primary aim of the Staff mobility project, implemented as part of the Erasmus+ Youth Accreditation program, was to enhance the professional competencies of RSI staff and youth workers associated with our project partners. The training, the core of this project, conducted in Montpellier, sought to ensure the continuous improvement and relevance of Road Safety and Mobility Education through a multifaceted approach. The project aimed to enhance road safety and mobility education among youth, aligning with the EU Youth Strategy's objectives of fostering safe and sustainable behaviors. Firstly, the project aimed to develop a comprehensive "train-the-trainers" module that integrates digital tools, European best practices, and practical experiences on the Road safety and mobility education sectors. This initiative was designed to transition from passive, lecture-based training methods to a more interactive and engaging format, promoting the active involvement of participants.By doing so, we intended to foster a more dynamic learning environment that encourages participation and deeper understanding. In response to the growing importance of digital readiness, particularly highlighted during crisis situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic, a significant objective of the project was to develop digital competencies among trainers and youth workers. This focus ensured that participants were equipped to maintain learning continuity and effectively utilize digital tools in their educational practices, thereby enhancing their ability to deliver high-quality education in any circumstance. Maintaining the quality of Traffic Safety and Mobility Education was another key objective. To achieve this, we accuired continuous professional development ideas designed to keep trainers and youth workers updated with the latest knowledge and practices in road safety, technological innovations, and pedagogical methods. These ideas aimed to boost the trainers confidence and competence in delivering effective education, ensuring that they remained at the forefront of their field. Furthermore, the project training sought to continuously update and improve training programs to reflect the latest developments and integrate interdisciplinary knowledge. This approach was intended to enhance the overall educational experience, ensuring that the programs remained relevant and effective in addressing contemporary issues and advancements. Engaging young people in advocacy and awareness campaigns was also a crucial objective. By learning new communicational techniques, we learned ways to get their voices and ideas listened , particularly in the areas of road safety and sustainable mobility. This idea not only promote safe and responsible behaviors but also fostered a sense of responsibility and active participation among young road users. Additionally, the project aimed to promote environmentally friendly practices and foster a culture of sustainability among participants. This included advocating for alternative modes of transport, such as walking, cycling and scooting, and integrating environmental considerations like recycling into road safety education. By doing so, we aimed to encourage more sustainable and responsible behaviors, contributing to broader environmental goals. In conclusion, the Staff mobility project successfully met its objectives by developing a robust train-the-trainers module, enhancing digital readiness, providing continuous professional development, updating training programs, promoting active advocacy, and fostering environmental responsibility. These achievements have significantly contributed to the professional growth of participants and the overall enhancement of Traffic Safety and Mobility Education, ensuring it remains relevant, effective, and aligned with contemporary needs and advancements.
