Objectives

European societies, nowadays more than ever before, are characterized by a strong element of diversity. Demographic, economic and social changes in Europe, has formed a diverse workforce looking for equal opportunities in the labor market. Ensuring fair and equal opportunities in the workplace is essential to the success not only of local economies but also the key ingredient to prosperity and well-being of our societies. In contrast, and despite the fact that the intensity of this diversity is steadily increasing, diversity representation and receptivity in the Labor market remains low. As social movements grow and demand positive change, workplaces should be at the forefront of building a more inclusive future and the youth workers can be and should be the “drivers” of this change in order to promote and better satisfy the needs of their target groups. Therefore, the Youth Workers Mobility "Diversity Academy" is driven by our strong belief that youth work can contribute to ensure that all young people have equal opportunities and their diversity is not an obstacle to their employment and development anymore. In this context, the "Diversity Academy" mobility's general goal is to promote diversity management and contribute to promote equal opportunities for all in the workplace, through increasing youth sector’s involvement in the topic and its capacity of promoting diversity in the workplace. Specifically, it aims to: -Raise youth workers’ awareness and sensitization on workplace discrimination, increase their empathy & help them fight any hidden own stereotypes & false perceptions towards diversity -Increase their capacity of developing friendly, inclusive & accessible youth organizations -Increase youth workers’ knowledge on diversity in the workplace and highlight its importance -increase youth workers’ knowledge and skills on promoting inclusive working environments and working with different target groups in order to create an inclusive labor market culture -enhance cooperation and understanding between youth workers and organizations from different countries Additionally, our planet is hit by a severe environmental crisis, negatively affecting human and not, life. Deforestation and forest degradation are found among the most serious environmental challenges, consisting a real threat for human life and nature, being significantly affected by climate change and at the same time negatively contributing to the phenomenon. Forest degradation puts human health and the health of our planet at risk. From policymakers to companies, to consumers and to citizens, urgent action is needed to halt forest loss. We depend on forests for our survival. Yet, despite our dependence on forests, we are still allowing them to disappear. Forests are the lungs of the earth, essential for environmental stability and human health and happiness. But human impacts have already led to the loss of around 40% of the world’s forests. We all need healthy forests and Young people can be part of the solution and can bring positive changes in the field, if they are sensitized and aware of the respective problems, more able and motivated to act for responding to the challenges that forests are facing. Young people know that the protection of forests and trees is important, but they don’t not know all the details. In this case, people with experience and youth work can help young people focus their efforts correctly, on things like restoration and protection in order to move from restoration and protection pledges toward restoration and protection action. In this context, the overall goal of the Youth Exchange Mobility "Forest Heroes" is to contribute to forest Protection and to the fight against forest degradation and destruction by sensitizing and involving young people in their protection and increasing their advocacy skills. In order to achieve this goal, it aims to: • Sensitize young people and the European societies about forest destruction, its causes and effects • Highlight the need for forest protection and motivate young people to act towards this direction • Introduce advocacy as a tool for young people to contribute to forest protection and increase youngsters and youth organizations’ capacity of intervening in the field • Create a forest protection movement and increase youth led activities implemented in the field • Increase cooperation and understanding between young people and organizations from different countries
