Objectives

Despite the European Union’s efforts to suppress the effects of climate change and raise environmental awareness, these problems remain burning issues that countries need more capacity to deal with. The data has shown that the European Union produces more than 2.5 billion metric tons of waste per year. In March 2020, the European Commission took action and, under the European Green Deal, presented the new Circular Economy Plan. As previously mentioned, our project identified milestones that should be accomplished and activities that support the needs of young people from six countries: 1. To foster a better understanding of entrenched environmental issues and habits; 2. To raise awareness of the people on the consequences of their actions and day-to-day living; 3. To make participants familiar with the concept of circular economy and Carbon Footprint (4R principle- refuse, reduce, reuse and recycle, low waste policy); 4. To develop assertiveness and interest in environmental changes; 5. To promote Erasmus+ as a programme that supports youth empowerment and competencies building; 6. To create greater responsiveness to cultural diversity and better understand European projects and EU values. In addition to the goals above, the project also promoted intercultural dialogue, increased the international dimension of youth activities and social inclusion, and strengthened cooperation between program countries within the Erasmus+ program. In addition, the project supported the improvement of the level of key competencies and skills among young people, including those with limited opportunities. Through the improved cooperation of organizations through the project activities, this project encouraged the improvement of quality in work with young people. In the end, the project also reached marginalized young people, promoting diversity, intercultural dialogue, and shared values of freedom, tolerance, and respect for human rights.
