The European Union is constantly making efforts to make European forests thrive. Their area has gradually increased and currently they cover 42 % of the EU land area. There is a long list of EU policies focusing on protection of forests. We need to popularise this and build the capacities among all citizens and especially among the youth. They already show an increased interest in environmental issues (Fridays for Future workshop), so we need to support these efforts and further deepen their knowledge, understanding and practical capacities. The project set the following objectives: - to provide the proper explanation of the most important phenomena, explain the functional relationships, contemporary developments and the main topics of the project (forest protection, climate change and sustainability); - to explain various implications that the protection of forests has over people, what are the effects of forests on the planet, how forest destruction worsens the whole environmental situation of the planet, how it disturbs the relations among people and what further problems it can potentially cause (definitions, naming the fundamental problems, explanations, descriptions); - to present national insights on the issue of forest and nature protection (presentation of specific activities of national authorities, NGOs and private sector); - to illustrate multiple ways how the deforestation can be countered – leading the participants to apply their knowledge in active problem-solving, schematic understanding, proposing new functional schemes and viable solutions to selected problems; - to suggest creative methods how to promote nature protection and sustainability;
