By implementing this project, we wanted to achieve a series of general objectives such as: 1. The internationalization of our learning. 2. To promote the idea of EUROPE and raise awareness on its common values. 3. To bring the Erasmus Programme into the Castelao. Besides that, we also though to be convenient to set a series of more specific objectives. These were: 1. To offer our students a huge complement to their studies that is more opportunities. It is possible that they haven´t had this opportunity before. 2. Formal and Informal learning. 3. Getting to know about Europass and its possibilities. 4. To provide a dialogue with other European Institutions. 5. European values knowledge supply. 6. To foster an intercultural society and the knowledge of the European cultural heritage.
We are the Castelao Highschool, a highschool which is located in Vigo (Galicia) and which offers the studies of ESO and Baccalaureate in its ordinary and adult regime. It also provides students with a morning schedule (ordinary st.) and an evening one for the adults one. The profile of this latter group of students, the evening ones, is characterized by being over 18 and the high number of different nationalities found in the classrooms. In the ESA, most of the students come to validate their previous studies or to get the certificate they were not able to achieve during their ordinary regime studies. A small percentage of the students quit their studies either because they are not committed enough or because they have found a job they can´t turn down. Among these students, there´s a high percentage that have limited resources and need professional counseling. Regarding our baccalaureate students, the vast majority come from the morning shift in order to conclude their studies. Having analysed these students needs, we thought highly beneficial to prepare and implement this proyect so as to offer them as the very own proyect states :new ways to learn developing their creativity, motivation and curiosity.
