Objectives

NEEDS are detected in our school linked to the use of digital tools among the entire educational community; the use of digital resources to improve inclusion and increase the employability of our students; and, regarding the school infrastructure, to improve the network and computer equipment. Therefore, when designing our project we set ourselves the following OBJECTIVES: - To digitise the teacher's and student's notebook, thus contributing to the sustainability of our school by reducing paper, ink and other waste. - To achieve educational equity through digitalisation by increasing the motivation and self-esteem of our pupils through the use of digital tools - To create a stable and accessible infrastructure and a protocol of good digital practices that is easily exportable to other schools. The work to achieve these objectives has generated an IMPACT in the school and in our environment by changing the teaching-learning model using digitalisation to achieve the inclusion of our students, increasing innovation through the digitalisation of the school; and promoting the updating of knowledge.

Background

IES Armando Cotarelo Valledor is located in a town with a medium-low socio-economic and cultural background. It offers Ordinary Secondary Education and Baccalaureate; VET and High Studies; Secondary Education and Baccalaureate for Adults.. More than 50% of adult learners combine work with studies but are employed in occupations with a low level of qualification and precarious salary. The academic profile of these students is marked by a history of failure in formal education, but it is worth noting the effort and motivation that attracts them. The academic profile of these students is marked by a history of failure in formal education, but their effort and motivation to improve their level of skills and to progress socially, culturally and economically is noteworthy. This project is oriented precisely to this goal: to increase motivation, self-esteem and improvement of digital competences that facilitate our students to re-enter the educational system and promote an improvement in their job opportunities. The SWOT shows insufficient training, especially in the digital field, and a high risk of dropping out of school at this stage. With the project we aimed to promote professional and digital inclusion and increase motivation.
