The objectives are to learn new methodologies to ease the work of the different departments and cycles. As we improve our methodology, the students will improve their access to the contents of the subjects, and they will feel more confident of their performances. Their results will also improve. The teachers’ update of their linguistic competence will make them more confident. Another objective is to get international contacts to develop our internationalization of our school. A secondary objective is to become more competitive in our surroundings.
Our school is placed in a high media social class neighbourhood surrounded by some other schools competing for the same population. For the last years we are having a Project passed by the Comunidad de Madrid which allows us to teach some subjects in English. Apart from that, we are in Programa BEDA and we offer our secondary students the opportunity to study Dual Baccalaureate and finish their secondary studies with two tittles the Spanish and the American. In our curriculum, we have different short immersion trips to different places according to the different students’ ages. With those activities we detected that not all our students were comfortable in English subjects when they reach secondary education as they require a bigger effort. We consider the need of updating our methodology in those subjects, improving the accessibility of students to the contents and refreshing the language competence of teachers to make them feel more comfortable in their day a day.
