The overall objective of the project was to provide opportunities for our students, the opportunity for social advancement and the opportunity for enriching experiences so that they can have an affordable and attractive opportunity to live enriching experiences in order to make education affordable and attractive to them and to enable them to improve their socio-economic situation and that of their families. to improve their socio-economic situation and that of their families. a) Opportunity to learn languages, particularly English: As is well known, academic results depend strongly on the level of economic resources of the families. As we have previously mentioned, our students are of lower-middle income level and few resources to afford language academies, camps and much less international exchanges: b) Opportunity to feel like European citizens, taking as their own the values, culture and lifestyle of Europe, and in particular and above all: democracy. c) Opportunity to travel and get to know other realities, cultures and ways of life within the European context. Opportunity not to be limited by state realities, but to be able to move comfortably in the common space of the Union.
As for our center, it is a small center with about 300 students from 1 to 16 years old (1-2 years old classroom, Infant Education, Primary Education and ESO). More than 40% of our students are immigrants, mainly from South and Central America. We also have students from China, the Philippines, Georgia, Romania, Bulgaria, etc. Many of them arrive throughout the year at different ages and usually have a gap of 2 or more grades, with special difficulties in mathematics and English. In general, they come from middle-low income strata, which causes them to miss out on opportunities such as extracurricular reinforcement and languages (English, Basque, etc.). Some come from dysfunctional families (separated mothers/fathers, grandmothers-mothers, etc.), which often leads to emotional difficulties that materialize in lack of attention and learning difficulties.5%. This is the second Erasmus project in which we participate (the 3rd taking into account a previous Comenius experience).
