Objectives

- To become our pupils conscious of the importance of belonging to Europe and the richness provided by each country, having our diversity as a starting point. - To encourage the attitudes of respect, inclusion and empathy, basic pillars of European values, accepting multiculturism from our society as long as the one from the partner school. - To impulse the use of new technologies safely, as a means of learning and dissemination of contents, within the European framework. - To inspire schools from our region to be part of these projects. - To give visibility to the effectiveness of bilingual programmes within the educative community, as they enable the development of theses mobilities.

Background

The main reason to apply for this project was giving the next step within the path started when we decided to develop an advanced bilingual programme in our school: qualifying our pupils to access international educative programmes, approaching to the quality standards set by European educative institutions. In this sense, we considered essential to become our students conscious and participant of this social, economic and, above all, cultural reality of which they are already part: Europe; in addition, in terms of psychological and emotional development, the age of our students (12 years old) is the most appropriate to develop topics such as respect, equality, inclusion and empathy, within the European framework, being an ideal example of the social advance through interaction and cooperation among cultures. So as to reach these goals, there was no better tool than interaction among peers through the direct exposure to the cultural mosaic which forms Europe.
