Objectives

Our school presented a significant rate of early school dropout. In addition, a large part of the students presented problems in basic competences, such as linguistics. We had a long way to go in terms of awareness, ecology and waste separation. Finally, we believed that it was our moral duty and our responsibility to educate our students in democratic and European values, to train critical and assertive citizens to improve the society of the future. For all these reasons, our most relevant needs were to implement the competence methodology, improve the skills of linguistic and plurilingual communication of students, improve the digital competence of students and improve the citizen competence of students. We firmly believe that our students must have a particular impact on democratic values, which are so much awkward today, and on environmental awareness (as the climate emergency is urgent) and so that we are truly promoting meaningful and lasting learning, which can transform society, we must do it from a competency and experiential point of view in order to empower our students for the future.

Background

Our project is the follow up of three previous Erasmus+ projects. We work with a KA1 project to reduce the rate of early school leaving and we continue with a KA1 of gamification. We were members of a KA2, and some of our students were members of the project as well. We decided to start a KA122 project that involves training courses for teaching, job-shadowing and mobility with students. These aspects aimed at achieving the main objectives of our project: to implement competence methodology, to improve the competence of linguistic and plurilingual communication of the students, to improve the digital competence of the students and to improve the citizen competence of the students.
