The IES Veles e Vents is a public Secondary Education School located in Grau de Gandia, a coastal tourist area south of Valencia. It is part of the network of multilingual centers in the Valencian Community. It opened in 2003 and was established as a learning community in 2014. It educates 1,102 students of 32 nationalities and offers studies at all stages of secondary education, baccalaureate and intermediate and higher levels of vocational training. The actions of this project are aimed at teachers and students of 2nd and 3rd ESO. Regarding the diversity of the center, 17% of the students are immigrants, 4% are students with Specific Educational Support Needs (NEAE) and 7% are students with needs to compensate for inequalities, which include irregular schooling, itinerant family members, lack of knowledge of languages, belonging to ethnic, cultural or economic minorities in a disadvantaged situation. The family environment is sometimes characterized by the temporary nature of employment as a consequence of an economy based on the service sector, which combines holiday periods of high employment rate with periods of low demand.
