With this project, the intention was to benefit the students of CEIP Luis Corti. By implementing the project, our main objectives were: To enrich and transform the lives of the Educational Community members through the development of Internationalization experiences. To reduce the existing "Digital Divide" by promoting Digital Competence. To value cultural diversity by fostering awareness of European citizenship. In essence, our purpose was to promote a more inclusive, digitally competent, and culturally aware educational environment through the execution of the project. The aim was to bring participants closer to new experiences and opportunities for internationalization that, without the help of this project, would not have been possible due to the social, economic, and personal barriers present in each individual. Similarly, the project aimed to reduce the digital divide by promoting digital competence. Lastly, another desired objective was to cultivate a sense of European citizenship through experiences that allowed participants to appreciate and value cultural diversity.
The present project has been carried out by the CEIP Luis Corti, a Center for Infant and Primary Education located in the northwest region of the island of Gran Canaria, in the municipality of Santa María de Guía. This center is immersed in an environment characterized by families whose socioeconomic level is predominantly low, with a considerable number of cases at risk of exclusion or vulnerability to marginalization. The underlying purpose of this project is to deepen and expand our knowledge in the field of inclusion and attention to diversity, with the aim of ensuring adequate educational attention for all students, in accordance with established quality standards. Likewise, another fundamental objective of this project is to address the digital divide that has been evidenced among students as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, a third primary objective framed in this project is to promote education in the context of European Citizenship, allowing both students, teachers, and families to develop new learning and cultivate the formation of active European citizens.
